Puri: The long wait of six years is over. The doors of Puri Srigundicha temple have been opened again for devotees. The temple was opened for darshan of common devotees after the end of the morning nitikanti at around 7:45 am on Wednesday morning. A large number of devotees gathered here before the opening of the temple.
Srigundicha temple has been closed for public viewing since the time of the covid epidemic, i.e. 2020. Devotees get a chance to have a glimpse of Srijiu at the Duropa Mandap only during the Rath Yatra every year. Now after the opening of the temple, the enthusiasm among the devotees has increased.
Entry to the temple will be completely free for devotees for the first three days. After that an entry fee of Rs.10 per devotee has to be paid. However, entry will be free for children below 5 years of age, seniors above 80 years of age and Dibang. Devotees can visit the temple from 6 am to 6 pm on normal days. Visiting hours in winter from November to February will be from 6 am to 5 pm.
