Baripada: A large grant has been sanctioned for the development of the famous Mother Kichkeshwari temple in Khiching, Mayurbhanj district. 44.91 crores have been sanctioned by the central government to further strengthen pilgrimage tourism in Odisha. The funds have been sanctioned under the PRASAD scheme of the Union Ministry of Tourism. In this sense, modern tourism infrastructure and better facilities for pilgrims will be developed in Maa Kichkeswari temple premises.
Under the project, emphasis will be placed on the development of the temple premises and the strengthening of transportation, accommodation and other necessary facilities for tourists and pilgrims. As a result, Khiching is expected to become an attractive pilgrimage and tourist destination.
