Bhadrak: 10-year-old child drowned in flood waters. The incident took place at Mahadevsahi under Katasahi panchayat of Dhamnagar block of Bhadrak district. The missing child is Subranshu Panda. He is the only son of Srikanth Panda and Anusaya Panda.
According to information, on Monday morning around 9:30 Subrashanhu was going to tuition with his elder sister and Piusa. At that time, about 2 to 1.5 feet of flood water was flowing over the road. The two siblings were holding Piusha's hand and walking in the water.
Meanwhile, Piusa's leg got stuck in a crack in the road and he lost his balance. Subrashanhu was swept away by the deep current while his big jhiyar was safe.
After the incident, locals immediately started searching for the child. Two fire brigade teams from Dhamnagar and Bhadrak reached the spot after the Dushuri police were informed. Despite searching for about 3 hours, the child was not found. The search was called off as night fell. Today, the search operation is still going on by the fire brigade and local people. After the disappearance of Suvranshu, the family is worried and the village is also in a sad mood.
