Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar police have a big plan to catch the chain robber. The police will keep a close watch on the criminals who take advantage of the crowd and loot chains. Plainclothes police will be keeping vigil especially near crowded areas and puja mandap.
Bhubaneswar DCP Dr. Sarbana Vivek M has discussed with ACP and IIC to prevent chain looting. The DCP has directed to identify the criminals involved in the chain loot case and monitor their movements.
According to information, 115 gold chains have been looted in Bhubaneswar UPD area in the last 8 months. However, in most of the cases, the police arrested the accused and confiscated the looted chain.
Further, as the crowd will increase in the capital along with Dashara and other Parbans, the police surveillance will be tightened to prevent chain looting. The DCP said that the campaign will continue to nab the chain robbers.
