Malkangiri: A government official has been caught in the vigilance net on charges of misappropriation of non-revenue assets. Odisha Vigilance arrested Shishir Kumar Das, Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) of Mathil Block on Tuesday. Currently he is attached to Malkangiri District Rural Development Authority (DRDA).
Vigilance raids were conducted simultaneously at various places related to Shishir Das. At the time of Chabhaau, information related to valuable assets in his name was seized by the vigilance.
During the investigation, two large buildings with a total built-up area of about 9,300 sq.ft. In addition, 6 valuable land plots in various prime locations have been found. Including his bank deposits and various investments, he has about 82 lakh rupees, according to the vigilance. Apart from this, a four-wheeler and other household valuables were also seized. Vigilance has alleged that Shishir Das could not satisfactorily account for the source of these assets.
